NEW HIRES: WHAT CAUSES YOU STRESS? 37

In the FY25 New Hire Survey, our recently hired nurses identified their “work
schedule” as the leading source of job-related stress. This finding aligns with
previous survey results, where “flexibility in hours/scheduling” was ranked as
the most important quality new RNs consider before accepting a position.

These insights highlight the critical role that scheduling flexibility plays in
both attracting and supporting newly hired nurses at UM Health.
