                                              95.  THE   FIG   (AL-TIN)

                                      In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

                                  1                    2
                                    By the Fig and the Olive,  and those who believe and do good
                                  by Mount Sinai,  3  and by this deeds—theirs shall be an unending
                                                                   7
                                  secure land,  4 We have indeed reward! What then after this, can
                                  created man in the best of mould, make you deny the Last Judgement?
                                  5                          8
                                    then We cast him down as the  Is not God the greatest of the
                                  lowest of the low,  6  except for judges?

                                           96.  THE   CLOT     (AL-‘ALAQ)

                                      In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
                                  1  Read! In the name of your  12  or enjoins true piety?  13  Do

                                  Lord, who created:  created man you see how he has denied the

                                  from a clot [of blood]. Read! truth and turned away from it?
                                  Your Lord is the Most Bountiful  14  Does he not know that God
                                  One  4  who taught by the pen, observes all things?  15 Let him
                                  5  taught man what he did beware! If he does not desist, We
                                  not know.  6 Yet man behaves will drag him by the forelock—
                                  arrogantly,  7 because he thinks  16  his lying, sinful forelock.

                                  will return to your Lord.  Have  18  We shall summon the guards

                                  worshipper from praying?  Do obey him, but prostrate yourself
                                  you think he is rightly guided, and come closer to God.
