Spotlight on Sorors

Soror Jaunita Owes recently received the Spirit of Tullibody award during
the Alabama State University Founders Day Convocation.

This award honors the brave and forward-thinking spirit of William Burns
Paterson by recognizing the courageous and innovative achievements of
an ASU alumnus who has made notable professional and civic contribu-
tions to the community and to ASU.

Soror Tandrea Elmore was recently credentialed as a National Certified
Counselor by the National Board of Certified Counselors. The National
Certified Counselor(NCC) is the NBCC's flagship certification for counsel-
ing. This shows colleagues and the public that I have voluntarily met high
national standards for counseling. She is currently an Associate Licensed
Counselor under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor,
working to obtain 3,000 direct and indirect contact hours to become a
licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor(LPC).

Soror Elmore was the receipent of the Alabama State Tag Scholarship as
well.
