Chapter 1: Introduction

• Silence key (AX)—If the alarm is in monitoring mode, press to
silence an audible alarm. If the alarm is in configuration mode, press
to scroll through the available options. The options scroll more
quickly if you press and hold the Silence key.

• Test key (AY)—If the alarm is in monitoring mode, press the Test
key to start a self-diagnostic routine. If the alarm is in configuration
mode, press it to change the alarm’s settings.

The rough-in assembly is installed prior to the dry wall installation. The front
panel mounts to the rough-in assembly after the dry wall is finished.

NOTE:
The MedPlus TotalAlert™ Alarm Network Conversion Kit is shipped with a
frame. The frame is surface-mounted to the dry wall around the existing rough-
in box. Then, the front panel mounts to the frame.

They are both shipped at the same time; however, the front panel is in its own
carton to provide better protection for the electronic components and for safe
storage until it is installed.
