Configure Electronic Notification

When there is an alarm condition, up to five electronic messages can be sent
from each Master Alarm.

1. To configure the electronic notification, click on the Electronic
Notification link. The Electronic Notification page displays (see figure 1-
39 on page 1-89).

2. Learn either the SMTP Server Name or SMTP Server Address.

NOTE:
The facility’s Information System personnel may need to be contacted for the
server name and address that the facility uses for the SMTP server.

NOTE:
The SMTP Server Address has priority over the SMTP Server Name.

3. To use the SMTP Server Name, leave the SMTP Server Address
window blank.

NOTE:
The SMTP Server Name requires a Domain Name Server (DNS) look-up.
Alarms that occur before the server name is resolved are not sent.
