                                                                                                                 1
                                                                                     Chapter 1: Introduction

                              WARNING:
The demand valves all fit into ¼" tee ports. Ensure that the transducer
and demand valve assembly you install is for the type of gas or vacuum
in the line you are currently connecting. If the incorrect transducer is
installed, patient welfare may be compromised.

                              WARNING:
Ensure that the correct type of transducer and DISS demand flow valve
is installed for the type of gas or vacuum being monitored. If incorrect
components are installed, patient welfare may be at risk.

                              SHOCK HAZARD:
Turn off the power supply in the alarm, and leave it off during the
installation of any component or sub-assembly. Failure to do so could
result in personal injury or equipment damage.

                              SHOCK HAZARD:
Turn off the source power to the alarm, and leave it off during the
installation of any component or sub-assembly. Failure to do so could
result in personal injury or equipment damage.

                              SHOCK HAZARD:
The potential for electric shock exists with electrical equipment.
Establish policies and procedures to educate your staff on the risks
                              associated with electrical equipment.

                              SHOCK HAZARD:
Do not expose the unit to excessive moisture that would allow for liquid
pooling. Personal injury or equipment damage could occur.

                              SHOCK HAZARD:
The potential for electric shock exists with electrical equipment. Use
caution when troubleshooting any electrical device.
