Parenting
Why is it so hard parenting today? Was it always this difficult? Perhaps it is harder
to meet the perceived standards of a being good parents. In the era of social media
and ever-increasing invasion of electronics in our lives the standards and definition
of good parenting appear to have gone up.
In earlier decades good parents were assumed to be those who provided their chil-
dren a pleasant environment and taught them good mannerism, to be respectful and
responsible. The focus clearly was on protecting children and providing them the ba-
sic necessities of life such as food and shelter.
In evolving years there is no dearth of contrasting philosophies and theories on
growth and development. Not just about how children should grow up physically but
also how they should grow socially, emotionally and intellectually. Among all these
theories, prominent ones are those about child psychology which also became the
sources of stress and pressure for parents.
As you provide structure and discipline to teach your child to be responsible you are
also forced to keep their emotional well-being intact. It then becomes necessity to
assess the quality of your relationship with your child. Qualitative parenting can pos-
sibly be achieved by encouraging open communication and making a bond of trust and
faith between parents and the children.
With plethora of information floating around each day, parents should give priority
to building a strong foundation for their children, a foundation based on values and
principles, making them more self-reliant and independent so that they can face any
challenges in their lives. Parent should be role models and showcase the behavior
they like to see in their children.
“Be the parent today that you want your kids to be tomorrow”
Team Diya places great emphasis on educating each and every child to the best of
his or her ability and make them responsible citizens of tomorrow.
