CHANGING TRENDS IN EDUCATION SYSTEM......

“Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think”
                                                                                            -Albert Einstein

India is a land of different cultures and values, and education is given the prime im-
portance which is evident from the Vedic period onwards. The first millennium and
the few centuries preceding it saw a flourishing trend in higher education. Every
temple, mosque or church was usually associated with a school in most regions of the
country. Children were prepared for the life rather than running behind any scores
or grades. Slowly we could see commercialization of education as any other field.

Rather than a right it became the privilege of only a few people belonging to high so-
ciety. Children from selected castes and poor financial background were denied the
access to education. Same was the case with women in society.

Despite being slow, changes are happening gradually in the field of education. Inter-
ventions from Government and Boards of different countries have given a new out-
look to the curriculum and its delivery. A holistic approach is taken in teaching stu-
dents. More skill-based learning is given than theoretical knowledge. Curiosity of
students is always touched so that learning becomes more meaningful. With develop-
ment in technology, knowledge is far easier to acquire compared to olden days. Re-
search in educational use of digital environments delivers convincing evidence of the
upcoming digital platforms to assist more effective learning. As a result, now we can

see many emerging opportunities in terms of occupations rather than selecting medi-
cine or engineering. With these changes it becomes an added responsibility for both
schools and parents to provide a creative platform for our young ones so that they
can choose and follow their passions without losing the values in their life.

In Diya, we believe all these changes are inevitable and the real challenge is to pre-

pare our children to get accommodated with the changes that are going to happen in
future. So as a whole we become a part of the journey to get updated and ready to
             challenge our students!!!
