• Middle School Spanish (5 -8 ) - ¿Cómo está usted? In this conversational Spanish class, we
will explore vocabulary and grammar in the context of various themed units. We will use
games, videos, dialogues, props, illustrations, photographs and more to inspire our
conversations. This is an oral Spanish class and will not have written homework. Instructor:

• Spanish I (HS) - This introductory course is designed for students with little or no previous study
of Spanish. Some students in course might have studied Spanish before but have not grasped
some of the important structures of the language. This course teaches basic language
patterns and vocabulary, including several conjugations. Class sessions are dynamic teaching
the concepts using a hands-on approach. Homework will consist of worksheets reviewing
concepts covered in class; “tagging” one’s surroundings; speaking, listening to and reading
Spanish. Repetition and comprehensible input are important components of this course.
Focus is on all four language skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing. Culture is an
integral part of the course and is introduced through the use of media, games, adapted
readings and discussions. This course will be able to count for high school credit. Instructor:

• Spanish 2 (HS)- Spanish 2 builds on the foundations of Spanish 1. Students learn to
communicate in everyday situations, such as in schools, restaurants, stores, hotels, doctor's
offices, banks, airports, and at sporting events. They learn key grammatical principles
including reflexive verbs, direct and indirect object pronouns, and more tenses. Class
sessions are dynamic teaching the concepts using hands-on approach. Homework will
consist of worksheets reviewing concepts covered in class; “tagging” one’s surroundings;
speaking, listening to and reading Spanish. Focus is on all four language skills; listening,
