While Del Rio Vineyards & Winery is a large concern, Events and Tasting Room Manager Courtney Thomas
says it’s still about the individual, the connection they get to have with their wine club members. “We love
growing with them.” She recalls members who became moms and now bring those children in as toddlers
and young kids.

Sometimes Del Rio shares its members’ tears. An out-of-town daughter relayed that her recently deceased
dad wanted winery folks to know how much he appreciated them. And then there was Jerry. Del Rio walked
with him through his wife’s slow decline from Alzheimer’s and her eventual death. Afterward, they reached
out to make sure he stayed connected. With time, he met someone, they married, and the couple is now off
on new adventures, including wine club events.

When Covid-19 shut everything down, Del Rio sent caring notes to their club members, asking how folks
were doing and offering a free glass of wine once things opened up. Members, in turn, call the winery,
sometimes just needing someone to talk to, someone to listen
