DELFINO VINEYARDS
Terri Delfino, co-owner of Delfino Vineyards and wearer of many hats,
brags on her wine club. “We have the best wine club of anybody,” she
says, “because they get to choose the wines they want.” They’re also enti-
tled to a discount at the onsite bed and breakfast.
Wine club members have their name engraved on the top of a vineyard
row. Terri enjoys watching them when they drop by to see how their
row is doing, then pose proudly for a picture with the sign.
To facilitate the changes brought by Covid-19, the winery instituted
Distancing Socials every Saturday. Members show up for free tastings.
At special wine club parties, they pick up their wine and enjoy food
truck offerings and live music. Because of the property’s layout, Delfino
is able to accommodate a fair number of people while still practicing
safe distancing.
FENCES WINERY
“My wine club members become like family,” says Jody Lennon, co-
owner of Fences Winery, as she proudly shows a picture of a member’s
newborn. With another member, she “went through two boyfriends,”
and a 27th-birthday party turned the honored guest into a member, her
first wine club.
Fences hosts tastings by appointment and wine club release Soirees, and
Sunset Sundays on their relaxing patio. Members often bring friends
who then join. One couple tasted Fences’ wine, served it at their wed-
ding, became members, and now have wine regularly shipped to them.
The wine is sold across the country, with people from New York City to
San Francisco tasting, then becoming members.
During Covid-19, tastings (by appointment) and private events are still
available—you can get out yet still feel safe. The quality wine, plus the
setting and view from the patio will make you want to sip, linger, and
join their wine club.
Jody recently started inviting local club members to drop by. They need
to call first, and if the space isn’t booked, they’re welcome to come by
themselves or with friends—buy a couple of bottles of wine, sit outside
and enjoy themselves in a beautiful environment.
