Gift to the Former President
February 8 , 2018 Fresh Standard donated one of its Vintino’s Coffee franchises worth Two
th
Hundred and Eighty Thousand Rand to the Shoshong Village Community. They intern donated it
to the former President of Botswana, His Excellency Lieutenant General Dr Seretsi Khama Ian
Khama on his farewell visit to Shoshong. This was well received by the community leaders and
the former president.
On the request of the President the gift was delivered to his residence the State House in
Gaborone. The handover was done by the youngest entrepreneur in the world, *Valentino de Beer
and Vinsenzo de Beer. This was broadcast on Botswana National Television and was also
headlines in their local newspapers.
My eldest son, aged 4 at the time, came to visit me in our workshop and had a very interesting
question for me. He said “daddy I see you have many trolleys here that can cut peoples hair,
make food, sell fruit and veg and sweets, but where is the one that can make coffee”. “if you make
a coffee trolley then I can have a Hot Chocolate, mommy can have a Cappuccino and you can
have a cup of coffee”. This was the birth of the Vintino’s Coffee Trolley; together with my design
team we put together a design to incorporate all the requirements to make a hot beverage. Today,
after a one month case study, we are happy to announce we are at the stage where we want to
launch the Vintino’s Coffee Trolley as a Franchise opportunity.
