B) The Bone Mill stainless steel parts:
1. After use, separate the stainless steel parts (including the blade if needed for reuse) from
other contaminated instruments.
2. Place the stainless steel parts in clean water (saline solution is not recommended).
3. Soak/clean the soiled stainless steel parts for 5 minutes in ultrasonic bath with germicidal
solution (i.e., 3% Meritz plus germicidal solution) at room temperature; alternatively,
submerge the stainless steel parts in a proper enzymatic detergent (i.e., 1% Metrex dual
enzymatic detergent) for 5 minutes at room temperature.
4. Remove all traces of blood and other contaminants with scrub and round nylon brushes
using the proper enzymatic detergent. Brush each part for one minute.
5. Rinse with running water.
6. Visually inspect all areas of the stainless steel parts for any remaining traces of
contaminants.
7. If needed, repeat all previous steps until properly cleaned.
8. Dry the parts.
13. Sterilization
Do not sterilize the Battery-power-pack or the Battery Charger
a) Sterilization Inner Frame, HR500-IF
The HR500-IF inner frame (10w x 9 ½d x 7h inches) is designed to properly hold and
contain the HR500 Motor frame, the Sterile Shield, and all of the HR500 Bone Mill
components. It fits inside a standard mid-size, 8 inches height sterilization container such
as Wagner WAG1V20ASA, or Sklar Product #10-4668. The components remain trapped
in their location when the container is tilted up to 45 degrees in any directions.
