           Factors Affecting Job Satisfaction of Sewing Machine Operators in Orit
                                      Apparels Lanka (Pvt) Ltd

                                               ABSTRACT

       Employee satisfaction is highly significant in Sri Lankan apparel manufacturing industry.
       Lower  productivity,  high  labor  turnover  and  high  absenteeism  rates  are  not  only  the
       standard  norms,  and  those  are  critical  factors.  Beside,  continuously  satisfying  the
       employees  are  another  challenge  that  the  employers  are  facing  today.  This  study  was
       carried  out  on  the  different  factors  affecting  on  job  satisfaction  of  sewing  machine
       operators in Sri Lankan apparel industry. There were eight criteria mainly focused in this
       study  such  as  Induction  program,  Training  and  development  opportunities,  Working
       conditions,  Treated  manner  of  Supervisor,  Salary,  Job  security,  Team  member  support
       and Managerial support. The organizational context of the study was Orit Apparels Lanka
       (Pvt.) Ltd, Embilipitiya. The research project will incorporate a comprehensive review of
       past literature on this topic. This will present the perceptions and opinions of other past
       researchers  into  the  study.  Data  was  collected  through  a  standard  questionnaire  from
       sample of 120 sewing machine operators. Data was statistically analyzed using correlation
       and  multiple  regression  analysis  using  SPSS  Statistics  17.0  software.    According  to  the
       result  of  analysis  four  variables  out  of  eight  variables  i.e.  Induction  program,  Salary,
       Treated manner of Supervisor and Managerial support are significantly influence for the
       satisfaction of Orit Apparels Lanka Sewing Machine Operators.
