“There is a "glimmer" of hope champion Parkside footballer Ross Napoli will walk again after
suffering a serious neck injury in Saturday's big game against West Footscray.
The 27-year-old Napoli collided with a teammate during the Footscray District Football League
(FDFL) first division match at the Merv Hughes Oval in Footscray.
The incident happened early in the second quarter and the game was officially abandoned half an
hour later. Both sides will receive two premiership points.
Napoli was air-lifted to the Austin Hospital.
The club's playing coach, Phil O'Keeffe, said there was a "glimmer of hope" Napoli could fight back
from injury.
He said Napoli had initially been told by his doctors to consider the worst case scenario.
