Parkside Football Club 1897/2017
"We just clicked," playing coach Phil O'Keeffe said.
It was a far different story in the Hawks' dressingrooms.
"The wheels fell off," coach Gavan Taylor said.
"It was a shocker. No excuses. All of a sudden we've hit a really good one, (who were) pumped to
play us."
It was a costly loss for Seddon-Yarraville Club, who toppled from fourth position on the ladder to
sixth.”

Magpies the side to
catch
BY STEVEN MILNE
“Parkside playing coach Phil O'Keeffe telephoned me late last week with a message.
"Cut out the dream team stuff will ya Steven," he said.
"There's still a long way to
go."
It was O'Keeffe's way of asking me to keep his high flying Magpies out of the
headlines.
Sorry Phil — your players are headline grabbers.
Parkside deserve to be in the headlines after a sizzling start to the 1999 first
division
season.
They are the real deal — the team to beat for the premiership.
The Magpies have been the competition's dominant side so far this season. Eight wins from nine
games sees Parkside sitting pretty on top of the ladder — six points clear of second placed Port
Colts.
The Borough is the only side to beat the Magpies this season — snatching a heart-stopping
six-point win at the Merv Hughes Oval in round four.
Parkside flexed its considerable (and growing) muscle with an astonishing 146-point mauling of the
then fourth placed Seddon-Yarraville Club in the last round.
