Larkin described the against-the-odds premiership win as perhaps "the Colts' finest hour".

Club president Peter llsley quickly added: "Every premiership is our finest hour".

But Ilsley did concede Saturday's win was slightly sweeter than last year's premiership —when
football great Des Tuddenham's side completely dominated the competition.

"This is a better one," he said.

Larkin, a member of last year’s premiership team, agreed whole-heartedly.

"No one expected us to win (this year)," he said.

"We did it the hard way."

Injured club legend Mick Hargraves probably best summed up the feeling among the Colts boys
when he said: "I've played in this footy jumper for 20 years — it's the best day of my life".

Goal king Jason Clarke couldn't stop smiling.
