Parkside Football Club 1897/2017
Other highlights this year were Ali Taleb running second in the western region football league best
and fairest. Ali also won our club's best and fairest for the third time. He is now only one win off
equaling the record of four wins by one individual.
Our appointment of Neville O'Connor as our no. 1 member, the first time this appointment has
taken place, was a new innovation. Neville is a stalwart of the club with this honour being richly
deserved.
In closing, i would like to thank one and all for their contribution to the running of the club this year,
and hope that season 2002 sees the black & white back in the finals series.

Administrators Report
Due to the late start of our 2001 preparation, both on and off the field, combined with unforeseen
circumstances relating to our elected administrator David Campbell, the club was forced to share
this function amongst different people on the committee.
The efforts of Rod O'Connor, who took on most of the workload, needs to be acknowledged in the
highest order, Rod's commitment and passion for the Parkside Football Club was nothing short of
amazing, and made things much easier for all other committee members.
Another major workload on the administration side is the handling of registrations, clearances and
various other equipment related matters. This work was carried out in a very well organised and
disciplined manner, which is crucial to the day to day running of any football club, and again Brian
Wilson's commitment to this task was enormous.
The efforts of Ray Barber and David Considine also need to be acknowledged. Their efforts in
running the juniors were fantastic. Very little concern and effort was required by the senior
committee, which allowed more time to be spent in other areas. Well done to all involved with our
juniors, and we look forward to a stronger junior involvement next year.
I am also pleased to report that the relationship between the W.R.F.L and the Parkside Football Club
has been restored, with the league expressing their confidence in the committee of 2001. This needs
to be ongoing. It is of vast importance to our club to have the league’s support and confidence, and
to be recognised as a leading club both on and off the field.
