Parkside Football Club 1897/2017
One area that our club does need to improve in is it relationship with the umpires. There is a strong
perception amongst this group that there is a lack of respect and control over some individuals
within our club. This has given the whole club a bad name. Action has recently been taken in this
area; however we need the assistance of all involved, including supporters, to bring about the
required change.
This season has seen many individuals make huge commitments and sacrifices for the Parkside
Football Club, and I thank you all for the wide and varied manner in which you have contributed. I
have not mentioned all the various individuals or groups, as they have been acknowledged in
different parts of this report.
On a personal note, I would also like to thank my son Tim who gave me great support in preparation
of minutes and coordinating the pledge invitations and certificates, amongst other things like
running raffles and generally assisting where possible. Without his help and efforts it would not have
been possible for me to achieve what was required on my part for the club.
Overall season 2001 has been a huge success both on and off the field. The club has certainly over
achieved in every area compared to the targets that were set back in February, when the club was
brought back to life.
Again to the many people who assisted in the wide and varied manner, we thank you for your efforts
and contribution and look forward to going onto bigger and better things in 2002.
