The Twenty-Third Dynasty: The 23rd Dynasty was
distinguished by the appointment of some princesses to priestly
positions, such as the title of the Divine Wife of Amun. We do
not know much about this family, but at the end of its reign, a
major struggle over power occurred between more than one ruler,
and among the most prominent of them was a man named
Tefnakht, who was the founder of the 24th Dynasty. .
