COOK
Requirements:
1. Prepare and light a fire for outdoor cooking.
2. Prepare and serve successfully any two of the following:
(i) A hot drink;
(ii) An egg;
(iii) Fried bananas or plantain, potatoes, breadfruit or cassava;
(iv) Serve a cereal.
3. Cook and serve successfully any two of the following:
(i) Fried bake or roasted bake;
(ii) Porridge or soup;
(iii) A green vegetable.
4. Cook and serve successfully a main dish of either meat or fish.
5. Draw up a list of the kitchen utensils and equipment required for a patrol on a
week-end camp.
CYCLIST
Requirements:
1. Own or have the satisfactorily use for at least six months, of a cycle, properly
equipped and in good working order.
2. Be able to make simple adjustments and repairs at the discretion of the examiner
(e.g. change a tyre and tube, mend a puncture, replace a brake shoe and block,
adjust the height of the saddle and handle bar to enable a younger boy to ride the
cycle.
3. Demonstrate that you know and observe the Highway Code, traffic signals, road
signs, national system of road names, signs and directions.
4. Be able to read a Road Map.
5. Take part in a Scout activity which includes the use of cycles.
