Page 831 - Chinese SIlver By Adrien Von Ferscht
P. 831
A highly unusual cigarette case [even for Wang
Hing] with high relief fish swimming across a
ground decorated with repoussé shell and
water-weeds.
The interesting inscription dates it to 1885 and
tells us the item found its way to Penang in
Malaysia.
This small item ia a tribute to the artisan skills Wang Hing & Company was able to find and then control
stylistically and in terms of quality consistency.
