The enamel technique is also quite different from either cloisonné or champlevé enamel one is more used to
seeing on Chinese silver.
Although Wing Fat is the more readily recognisable mark on this piece, the true artist is the Shanghai-based
artisan silver workshop of Wang Xing Yu. To create a tea pot of such detail, this is obviously a collaboration of
the retail silversmith and the artisan. One can probably also assume this was a bespoke piece. The treatment of
the bamboo form with its enamelling makes it particularly life-like.
