            bowl is a tapestry of textures in all senses of the word; one almost feels as if one is getting keyhole views of
            Chinese life in another age, each vignette beautifully created to achieve a depth of perspective which is all the
            more heightened by the pitted ground

                                                                                       h i g h e s t   q u a l i t y
                                                                                       craftsmanship  -  the  high
                                                                                       relief  chrysanthemum
                                                                                       motif  set  upon  a  cross-
                                                                                       hatched  ground.  A
                                                                                       traditional motif this may
                                                                                       b e  b u t  t h e  w h o l e
                                                                                       execution of it is far from
                                                                                       traditional  -  this  is  ‘out-
                                                                                       of-the-box’  creativity  at
                                                                                       work.
