This bowl, however, is the
product of a creative mind
having found a way of
producing a quite unique
version of the type of bowl
so many Chinese
silversmiths created at this
time, circa 1900-1910.
The lotus influence has been
interpreted in a unique way
and the cross-hatch basket-
weave texture above it is a
woven textural effect rarely
used in Chinese Export
Silver

certainly been made for a
discerning client.
A Wing Nam card case is circa 1880-85,
from the early days of Wing Nam and
before a discernible Wing Nam house
style had developed. But this is a high
quality item, well made and highly
collectible today.
