YE CHENG COMPANY
Tientsin [Tianjin]
circa 1900-1937
A derivative mark of the Ye Ching mark;
one of the most confusing Tientsin
s i l v e r w o r k s h o p s i n t e r m s o f
inconsistency of silver marks. Ye
Cheng-marked items appear to be of
the same quality as Ye Ching; the Yu
Chang-marked items from the same
workshop were generally of a more
sophisticated design and calibre.
This cake server is about as simplistic
as one could get in terms of reticulated
silver work.
