An inverted bell-shaped cup [left] with heavy
repoussé work scene of busy waterside scenes
with sampans, figures and buildings within a
landscape supported by a high stem of scrollwork
gathered and twisted loosely into a trumpet form
encircled by a dragon. Two additional dragons
amidst clouds rest upon the dome dand stepped
base. The cup is double lined with a parcel gilded
interior.
A circa 1830 tapered canister-shaped tankard with
half-round rims at top and bottom, the top having
additional cause-work of shells and leaves. Two
decorative chased bands depict sonshu [tree
squirrels] amongst fruited vines. A bamboo form
loop handle with chased node points sets the
tankard off. The interior is parcel gilded.
