Perhaps it is fitting that one of the oldest cities in China should be home to a silversmith that practices one of
the oldest silver techniques in the entire 1200 year old Chinese silver making heritage.
Filigree silver making has been part of the Chinese silver landscape since the Tang and Sung Dynasties. The
style of Yao Quan Xing is quite individualistic compared with masters practising the art at the period - the
nearest comparable silversmith in style is probably Li Sheng, in fact there is a distinct likeness between them.
