silhouette bottle carved in shallow relief with
birds alighting over pine and prunus trees,
and a rose quartz bottle in the shape of a
seated horned mythical beast.
The jade bottle: 5.5cm (2 1/4in) high (3).

Two ‘shadow’ agate snuff bottles
19th century
The first with a concave lip and recessed
foot, the front carved low-relief with Li
Taibo, the mottled dark inclusions cleverly
incorporated into design, hardstone stopper;
the second bottle with an eagle silhouette,
hardstone stopper; together with a jasper or
‘bloodstone’ bottle, hardstone stopper. The
largest: 6cm (2 3/8in) high (6).

Qing Dynasty
Comprising: a cinnabar lacquer flattened
bottle carved with scholars engaged in chess,
metal-mounted green hardstone stopper; an
under-glaze red decorated blue and white
cylindrical bottle with a narrative scene; a
small blue-glazed moulded bottle with lotus.
The lacquer bottle: 6.6cm (2 6/8in) high (4).
