A DEHUA FIGURE OF SEATED GUANYIN

LATE MING-EARLY QING DYNASTY, 17TH-18TH CENTURY

The deity is shown seated cross-legged at ease on a pedestal,
holding a scroll in one hand, dressed in a voluminous robe
falling into folds, her hair tied into a high chignon, her eyes
downcast with a benevolent expression, covered overall
with a clear ivory-toned glaze.
