A BRONZE ‘DRAGON’ PAPER WEIGHT
LATE MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
The rectangular bronze paper weight is surmounted by a
finial in the form of a slender single-horned dragon standing
foursquare with an arched back and curly tail.

A BRASS QUATREFOIL LOBED EWER
AND COVER
GUANGXU PERIOD (1875-1908)
Each lobed side is finely chased with an intricate decoration
of a five-clawed dragon and phoenix flying amidst ruyi-
shaped clouds, extending from one side of the body a
dragon’s head with its mouth agape, forming part of the
spout. The flattened shoulder is further decorated with
alternating panels of dragons and phoenix and set with a
scroll-form handle arching over the circular cover also chased
with a five-clawed dragon to the centre.
