A SPINACH-GREEN AND WHITE JADE CIRCULAR BOX AND COVER
18TH-19TH CENTURY
清十八/十九世紀 碧玉嵌白玉雲龍戲珠紋圓蓋盒
The cover is inset with a carved and pierced plaque with a dragon chasing a faming pearl amongst clouds.
The sides of the cover and box are carved in relief with archaistic stylised taotie masks. The base has
an incised Qianlong yu wan four-character mark highlighted in gilt, which may be translated as ‘for the
Imperial enjoyment of the Qianlong Emperor’.
