I was probably the first “live broadcast” from the headwaters of the Mississippi river Cam
Feed to use it as such and have it recorded as well as have family and friends watch. In so do-
ing many people saw me pull up, adjust boats one by one and take them over the rocks and

dams into the shallow pond. Later I took them back across and back across the lake to the boat
         ramp.

Pictures revealed part of the story. The area from Lake Itasca Rock Dam to the road at Gulsvig

Landing was ankle deep. I know, I walked in the day before till I got to the part I could see the
         road in the distance.

Trying to drag the kayaks thru inches of water and two walk bridges was futile. Even though I

had emptied them of cargo for the ceremonial start, it was just too low.

Later as we transported gear and kayaks to the “Gulsvig Landing” site, I walked back in the
river trying to find a launch spot with water in it. There was none and I would up actually

walking the entire distance to the launch site where I had about 6 inches to work with.

         Gulsvig became our re-launch site.
