January: Martin Luther King Day is celebrated on the
third Monday in January every year in the United
States of America. It commemorates the birthday
of Martin Luther King Junior who was a very famous
black Reverend. King was the chief of a non violent
movement in the Civil Rights Movement, which
protested against racial discrimination in the 1960s.
He was assassinated in 1968 and became a symbol of
non violent resistance.
