        Clinical use

              Eradicate Liver stages of p vivax and P ovale


              Used in conjugation with blood schizonticides (Not active alone)

              14day treatment of primaquine is standerd after treatment with
               chloroquine


              Alternative for primary prevention

        Anti-folate drugs


        Pyrimethamine, Proguanil, sulfadoxine and dapsone are used

        Mechanism

        Act as antimetabolites of PABA and inhibit synthesis of folic acid
