Namo tassa bhagavato arahato sammā sambuddhassa
2. 1. (24) Pāthikasuttaṃ
1. Thus / I / have heard: Once / the Lord / among the Mallas / was
staying / Anupiya is the name/ of a Malla/ town, Then / the Lord,
/ in the early morning / having dressed / his robe and bowl/ having
taken/ to Anupiya/ for alms / went. Then/ Fortunate One/ thought:/
'It is too early for me / into Anupiya / for alms / to go.
2. Then / Bhaggava-gotta / the wanderer / to the Fortunate One / said
this / 'Come near / Lord / the Fortunate One/ Welcome / to the Lord
/ the Fortunate One /, it is a long / the Lord / the Fortunate One /
has taken the opportunity / to come our way/
3. Be seated, / the Lord the Fortunate One, / here is a seat / prepared.
4. sat down / the Lord the Fortunate One / prepared / on the seat /,
Bhaggava the Wanderer / certain / low / a stool / having taken / to
one side / sat down / Bhaggava./ one side / seated / Bhaggava the
Wanderer / to the Fortunate One / speak this/ ago / Lord / some
days / a good many days ago / Sunakkhatta / of the Licchavis’/
having approached / to me / said this/
