2. Word Possibilities & Word Choice
a. doers (poietes / poy-ay-tace): Noun – masculine plural
(1) doer – one who does
(2) poet – a producer of literary texts
Based on context, the best choice is doers. The term is descriptive of one who
performs a particular activity, one who does something. The other option does not
make sense in the context.
b. hearers (akroates / ak-ro-at-ace): Noun – masculine plural
(1) hearer – one who hears
As the only option, the choice of hearers is descriptive here of a persons who
understand that which is being communicated.
c. deceiving (paralogizomai / par-al-og-id-zom-ahee): Verb – present middle participle
(1) deceive – by arguments or false reasons
