d. beholding (katanoeo / kat-an-o-eh-o): Verb – present active participle

(1) consider closely – to give very careful consideration to a matter
(2) be concerned about – to give proper and decisive thought about something
(3) understand completely – to come a clear and definite understanding
(4) notice – to discover through observation and thought

Based on the imagery of a man looking in a mirror it seems best to see this word
used in the sense of consider closely. This is indeed what takes place as one looks in
a mirror. He looks closely with the purpose of discovering that which might need
attention. Of course, the other usages could just as well be argued in light of the
care given in each exercise.

e. natural (genesis / ghen-nay-sis): Noun – feminine singular

(1) birth – coming into existence by birth, natural
(2) lineage – persons of successive generations related by birth
(3) history – an account of the origin and life of someone
(4) existence – the state of existence

In light of the context, birth seems to be the best choice. Used in conjunction with
face, it is a descriptive term speaking of the natural or by-birth appearance.

f. goeth (aperchomai / ap-erkh-om-ahee): Verb – perfect active indicative

(1) go away – depart from a point of reference
(2) pass away – cease to exist

Based on context, the best choice is go away with the meaning of departing
from a point of reference. In this passage the man does not cease to exist.

g. straightway (eutheos / yoo-theh-oce): Adverb

(1) immediately – at once

Being the only option, immediately is the best choice.

h. forgetteth (epilanthanomai / ep-ee-lan-than-om-ahee): Verb – aorist mid
indicative

(1) forget – to not recall
(2) neglect – to not recall and thus fail to do something
