While trials and temptations that I face today may be different than those faced by
the believers to whom James wrote, I too need to respond to the wisdom of God’s
Word not simply as a hearer, but also as a consistent doer. There is no value in
simply understanding God’s Word but doing nothing with it. There is great value in
understanding God’s Word and consistently acting upon it.
