The Southern Cross is a two day Speed race event
which has been running for 20 years and attracts
skaters from across Australia. It is a great event to
stretch the legs out to race in a competitive but friendly
environment and caters for all age/skill divisions

Day one saw a great day of outdoor racing at
Dandenong Showgrounds that consisted of short and
long distance races to give everyone a challenge.

Day two was held at Speed Skaterz Eltham. The floor
had recently been recoated and is the GRIPPIEST floor
in Victoria! All the skaters enjoyed the g forces as they
flew around the floor in a mix of short and long distance
races.
Well done to everyone who competed and thanks to all
the hardworking volunteers who give their time freely to
ensure the ongoing development of Speed skating in
Victoria.
