FOUNDATION STAGE
SCIENCE
“Equipped with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls that the adventure Science.” Edwin Powell Hubble
Science is a vibrant
subject at the Foundation
stage. We aim to help our
students understand how
major scientific ideas play a
vital role in the world around
us and prepare them for
life in an increasingly
technological world.
They talk about the features
of their own immediate
environment and make
observations of animals and
plants and explain why some
things occur and change.
They also recognize that a
range of technology is used
in places such as homes
and schools and how they
can select and use them for
particular purposes. Lessons
are planned for children to
develop links between their
experiences related to
similarities and differences
in relation to places,
objects, materials and living
things.
