A. PRIOR EXPERIENCE
$2 Billion
Barr & Barr has constructed more than $2 billion in academic facilities and has
managed the construction of varying academic buildings for some of the marquee
institutions in the country. in Academic
Construction
Currently, Barr & Barr is working with Cornell NYC Tech on Roosevelt Island
constructing the 150,000 SF Bloomberg Center and just recently completed the projects
preconstruction process for the Verizon Executive Education Center. We fully
understand the logistical challenges that come with constructing on Roosevelt Island
and that Cornell University needs a team that is “proactive” not “reactive” in their
decision making. Th e knowledge and experience we have working directly with Cornell
University, fully understanding the area and all the work the resides on the Island is
truly benefi cial in selecting our team for Th e Verizon Executive Education Center.
Working with Signature Architects and Designs
Barr & Barr has worked with many signature architects and designs over our 90 year
history. Proposed project team members have worked directly with Frank Gehry,
Rafael Manoli and Jose Rafael Moneo locally on the Princeton University campus.
Currently, we are working with Morphosis Architects on the Cornell University,
Bloomberg Center project. Our experience in working with signature architects and
designs means there will be no learning curve for our team on Th e Verizon Executive
Education Center project.
