up to the mark with double distilled water.
FStandard Phosphorus solution: (80 micro grams
per ml) Take 0.0352g of potassium di hydrogen
ortho phosphate AR grade, dissolve in distilled
water and make up to 100 ml. Now this solution
contains 0.008g of phosphorus is present in 100
ml of standard phosphorus solution other wise 80
micro gram of phosphorus is present in one ml of

standard phosphorus solution.
PROCEDURE
Test solution for DCP/MCP
FDissolve accurately 1g of DCP / MCP sample, add
1:3 hydrochloric acid till effervescence ceases and
add 5 drops of 1:3 nitric acid. Give slight boiling to
the solution and cool. (Picture - 13)

FThen filter through filter paper with distilled water
and wash the filter paper with distilled water and
collect the filtrate in a 250 ml volumetric flask and
make up volume. (Picture - 14)
Test solution for finished feed:
FWeigh accurately 2g of sample in a silica crucible
and keep it in a muffle furnace for 1½ hour at
o
o
600 C+/-20 C. Remove the crucible from the
furnace and cool. (Picture - 15)
