Who can practice Nadi Shodhan Pranayama?
Anyone can practice this amazing holistic process, including women
looking to conceive healthily, small children, the aged and the sick. It is
very easy and significant breathing exercise for everyone. Expecting
women can also do it regularly with certain precautions that will result in a
healthy and normal baby.
How to prepare for Nadi Shodhan?
Let’s go back to one of the synonyms of Nadi Shodhan, Anulom Vilom.
‘Anulom’ is a Sanskrit word which means ‘alternate’. Therefore Anulom-
Vilom is also known as “Alternate Nostril Breathing Technique”.
To implement this technique, you need to use the right hand thumb and
middle & ring fingers together. Keep the palm in front of face and above
the nose to avoid interruption in flow of breath from nostrils. The thumb
will act as a level and the ring and middle finger will be placed between
your brows.
