WHY DIDN’T I GET THE JOB
If you didn't get the job, try to work out why you were unsuccessful.
You could even ask the employer. If you think through what you said, you may
realise you could have answered some questions better
A Careers Officer or teacher will be able to help you with your interview
technique
But don't automatically take your lack of success too personally. There are
many more applicants in the marketplace than a few years ago
There may simply have been much better qualified or more suitably
experienced candidates
Sometimes, there is so little to choose between the best two or three applicants
for a job, that it's really little more than luck in the end
Whatever happens, try not to let failure to get a job get you down too much,
and don't let it stop you from going after other jobs
Job hunting can be very disheartening and disillusioning, and prolonged
unemployment is very depressing for most people
• For the sake of your morale, find other areas of your life where you can
be successful, helping parents and neighbours, sports, handicrafts,
voluntary work, day/evening classes and so on to gain vital experience
• There are many things besides jobs in which you can succeed and be
valued as a person, and next time you go for an interview, you can tell
the employer how constructively you spend your time
• If at first you don’t succeed - Try - Try and Try again. Eventually you
will be successful
