Abstract
Public transport system is always considered as an appropriate solution to solve the urban transport
problems such as congestion, environmental pollution, safety and comfort improvement. Transport users take
public transport solely or combine with private mode for their trip of multiple purposes. “Park and Ride,
P&R” method is used to combine trips using both private vehicles and public transport. This solution is
especially effective for urban areas with low population density where have extended transportation system
and gateaway areas of cities. In order to apply effectively and successfully P&R in Hanoi, this study focuses
on analyzing and evaluating the current situation of P&R and the expectation of the user. Yen Nghia station
was selected as a case study for motocycle users. As a result, suitable solutions are presented to improve the
service quality and the efficiency of P&R in Yen Nghia station.
