Abstract
In recent years, urban activities are deeply affected due to urban floods are occurred frequently.
Especially, it has been increasingly occurring in developing countries. In urban areas, the big issue has
become the floods which influence huge damages to urban transport such as loss of the connectivity on the
road network. In order to outcome this issue, many countries and cities try to implement adaptation policies
for the flood damages in urban areas. However, they are unable to uncover the impact of adaptation measures
on the urban transport. Therefore, in this study, the objective is to reveal the effects of the implementation
adaptation measure for road network disruptions. As the method, each road section compares to the traffic
volume of each link for understanding the priority the rank of implementation in countermeasures. Finally,
to assess the measure of the transport sector in mitigating urban flood impacts. As the results, it was found
that the measure of the elevation of arterial roads could shorten average travel time by 20 minutes during
flooding period in the zones along the river. This benefit was estimated at 6.8 million THB per 1.5 months
in the rainy season. In conclusion, this study suggested that it is essential to implement appropriate measure
on the transport sector for the alleviation of urban flood impacts, based on the disruptions of the road network.
