The Revolution of Imam Hussein
Unlike the kings and emperors who ruled over their
lands with power and tyranny, Imam Hussein (as) since
his martyrdom has ruled throughout history and is still
ruling over the hearts and minds of millions of oppressed,
poor people and seekers of truth and freedom.
His stance in Karbala has never dried the pens of the
historians, philosophers, scholars, writers, and authors
from Muslims and non-Muslim. His cause was an
everlasting open book that will never be closed. Zeinab
bint Ali’s words came to be true when she confronted
Yazid in his court. “You will never eradicate our memory
nor will you suppress our revelation” (11).
If you travel throughout the world you will find all
nations pay their respect to the memory of Imam
Hussein (as). Every year during the first 10 days of the
sacred month of (Muharram) which is called (Ashura)
they commemorate the battle of Karbala and repeat the
words of his grandfather the best of mankind and the
leader (sayyed) of the sons of Adam the Messenger of
Allah Muhammad (p) “Hussein is from me and I am from
Hussein. May Allah love he who loves Hussein.”
In Islam you cannot separate religion from politics.
Therefore, Imam Hussein’s revolution is a religious and
