The Revolution of Imam Hussein
honesty, righteousness, manhood, humanity and reciting
the history of the unjust rulers and their adherents who
subjugated people to their obedience for their worldly life
for a few coins of gold and silver (5), which lasted only for
a short period of time.
From the school of Imam Hussein (as) the rulers should
learn how to rule, understand the meaning of leadership
and justice and how to be obedient to their creator.
From the pages of Karbala, humans irrespective of their
origins, faiths, beliefs and nationalities should learn the
meaning of humanity, how to live and how to be alive.
Thirst was severely painful in the battle of Karbala (6).
They prevented Imam Hussein (as), his family and his
companions from drinking a drop of water from the
Euphrates River in order to surrender (7). He did not
yield, but he watered humanity with his love, morality and
noble values.
Imam Hussein (as) demanded water from the army
of Yazid to quench the thirst of his infant. The answer
was an arrow which was shot by the solider Harmala,
and his target was the tender neck of the infant (8). The
infant was murdered but the cause of Imam Hussein (as)
became immortal.
