The Revolution of Imam Hussein

political revolution for the establishment of justice, equity

and civilization on earth. He put the foundation of the
universal revolution of the awaited savior al-Imam al-
Mahdi (as) which will spread justice all over the world and
urge every individual to ignite the torch of freedom either
for themselves or for the oppressed people.

The principles of Imam Hussein’s revolution did not
die with his death. His martyrdom was a propulsive force
which awakened Muslims and exposed the irreligious

spirit which surrounded the Islamic society in general and
the government of Yazid in particular. It revived the spirit
of struggle for the betterment of the Muslim community
and the rehabilitation of the Muslim’s esteem...And above
all it inspired later revolutions against the unjust rulers
and has become to the present day the symbol of (Shi‘a)
revolutionaries who revolted against unjust holders

of power, and thus was of special significance in the
consolidation of (Shi‘a) thought in Islam.
